So, why did the early descendants of Adam live for hundreds of years?

As we said in our last post, when Adam sinned, the Hebrew says he would "die and die". As we said, immediately mankind 'died' and SIN was lodged in mankind's spirit. So, as for the second 'die', why did those early people live so long?

Many, many people refuse to accept the Bible for this very question. They consider the Bible a fantasy because of this one question. But there is a very simple reason and it's easy to explain. This is directly from the Bible.

Leviticus 17:11 (KJV)

For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul.

The reason Jesus had to shed his blood was to make atonement for our souls. However, the answer to the question is in that verse also.

When Adam sinned, a small dot of darkness was embedded in his heart. That small dot was not enough to kill Adam's body. But through thousands of years of that darkness growing, because of the sinful acts they did, the heart became full of darkness.

As our verse says, the life of the flesh is in the blood. The heart pumps the blood. The heart is black, so the blood flowing is black. When the blackness in the heart, and thus in the blood, the body could no longer sustain life. That is when men died. But it took thousands of years for the heart to get to that point. After the first 10 generations man never lived as long because mankind's heart was almost full of blackness.

Now you know the reason and can explain it knowledgeably to others. Spread the word so people will come to faith instead of unbelief.
